South Fulton Business Coalition Wants to Improve South Fulton MARTA

In an announcement to South Fulton Business Coalition(SFBC) members and to residents in and around the area, the SFBC is attempting to make improvements to the MARTA system for South Fulton communities.

According to a recent newsletter the organization is working with the Atlanta Public Sector Alliance to identify improvement opportunities.  The SFBC states that they, "are studying Route 181 (Buffington Road/South Fulton Park Ride) to ensure its serving residents who live in the apartments on Flat Shoals and Shannon Parkway.  We are looking at other routes in South Fulton including Route 180, 189, 89, 73, 71 and 172."

The South Fulton Coalition offers a variety of reasons to improve MARTA in South Fulton, mostly for economic growth within the community and businesses in the area.

"The SFBC has taken on public transit as we believe that South Fulton needs to be at the table when it comes public transit resource allocation.  We want to make sure that our business corridors such as Old National Hwy, Oakley Industrial Blvd, Fulton Industrial Blvd, Virginia Ave/Sylvan Road and Senoia Road has capacity to get employees to employers.  Employers often look at public transit accessibility when making decisions on locating in an area.  Also, we want the community to be able to travel around the area for work, leisure and pleasure.  We need more people to step up and get involved with this.
