WCLK Responds to Upset Listener's Format Complaint

The following is a direct copy of a letter forwarded to Cascade Patch from WCLK's General Manager in response to a listeners written complaint.  Some listeners, like the one who wrote the original letter, are upset with the more strict, "smooth jazz" format.  WCLK's response to that listener is below. Leave your comments, tell us what you think of the station's current format.

Dear Mr. Piccard,

Thank you for your recent correspondence and your heartfelt expressions for Jazz 91.9 WCLK.  You have been a longstanding supporter and friend of WCLK and that has not gone unnoticed.  What truly matters to us, is your passion for Jazz and your concern for the future of the station.  I assure you we absolutely share your interest in continuing the station’s legacy of artistic excellence, as well as engaging listeners and members in what is the truest American art form, Jazz.

In the coming weeks, we will be sure to follow up with you on some of our very exciting plans for Jazz 91.9 WCLK— plans that absolutely include the appropriate curation of this art form--as we embark upon 40 years of service to Atlanta and the metropolitan community.
