Is it difficult to change your mind-set? Does the thought of changing your mind create anxiety or excitement? Why it is that changing your mind about some things is easy while other things   appear impossible? In posing these questions, I hope to invoke your thought process and hopefully influence you to change your mind about the things you desire to change.

A month ago we were celebrating a New Year and a great amount of people were making resolutions regarding weight loss. Gym memberships increased, diet plans were drafted, work-out gear was purchased and strong declarations such as “I am going to lose weight” were stated.

Today, many of those weight loss resolutions are still unfulfilled. The question is why? Could it be that change is a process? A process is a series of actions, motions, or occurrences; progressive act or transaction; continuous operation; normal or actual course or procedure; regular proceeding; as, the process of vegetation or decomposition; a chemical process; processes of nature. And without endurance change cannot last. Once you understand the dynamics of the process and be willing to lay hold to it, you will never be able to change your will. If you yo-yo in your decision making and not do what you say you are going to do, you will only pro-long the victory, which you desire. Wanting the change is not good enough but pursuing it and pushing through when you are tired, is where we win.

Your mind has the ability, to change your will. According to Webster dictionary, will is used to express desire, choice, willingness, consent or the mental faculty by which one chooses or decide upon a course of action. The will cannot be changed unless the mind is renewed. Renew your mind daily; become relentless at pulling down the strongholds which have set up residence in your mind.  Abort the old for the new and do not allow what you feel, see, think nor here become your reality.

Imagine your transformation; see yourself looking like what you desire. Focus on how and what you will become, if you complete the process.

If you have said, you were going to lose weight and become healthy for 2014, let it not be vain words. Take action immediately and defy the odds. Change your mind and it will change your will.
