Delta Sigma Theta Sorority to Host Human Trafficking Forum this Saturday

April is National Child Abuse Prevention month and the recent study by the Washington D.C. Urban Institute for the U.S. Justice Department highlights the abuse of children in illegal sex trafficking in America. Atlanta topped the list of sex trafficking cities. Each night in the ATL, approximately 100 children will be exploited. The average age of trafficking victims is 12 years old; this brutal and inhumane business of trading children for money cannot be ignored in Atlanta.

On Saturday, April 26 at 9:30 am at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Atlanta Airport West (Camp Creek Parkway near the Walgreen’s) the Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapter and East Point/College Park Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host a Human Trafficking Forum.

One of the panelists will be author Dorsey L. Jones, whose book, "Stretched Beyond Measure: The Angels Were Crying" courageously chronicles her journey of pain and shame from sexual exploitation, abuse, and deprivation to courage. This exploited child became a probation officer with a passion to protect innocent children. Dorsey’s message was born out of her struggle.
