Delta Sigma Theta Sorority takes a “Stroll to the Polls”

The Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated  along with the East Point/ College Park and Atlanta Suburban chapters in partnership with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta and  Atlanta NAACP, will put on a “Stroll to the Polls” event on Saturday, October 27, 2012.  Participants will gather 12:00pm at the Wayfield Grocery Store located at 3050 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.  At 1:00pm, everyone will stroll or march to the Adamsville Recreation Center. This event is open to the public.

The purpose of the “Stroll to the Polls” is to motivate and educate the citizens of
Atlanta on the importance of voting, especially the advantage of voting early.  Camille Zeigler, president of the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter mentioned that, “As a non-partisan organization, we do not endorse any candidate for the Office of President of the United States, nor do we endorse any local political official.  However, it is important for every citizen to exercise their right to vote, and vote for the candidate of your choice, which can influence decisions such as Roe vs. Wade, as well as your rights as an American citizen.”
