Atlanta School Board Candidate Forum Hosted By The League of Women Voters & Delta Sigma Theta Sorority

The League of Women Voters and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will host a community forum featuring candidates for the Atlanta Board of Education’s At Large Seats. The League of Women Voters of Atlanta-Fulton County and Delta Sigma Theta Atlanta Alumnae and Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapters, all nonpartisan organizations, have partnered to host this free event.

The public is invited to the forum to be held on Wednesday, September, 25 at the Adamsville Recreation Center from 6:45 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The Recreation Center is located at 3201 MLK Jr. Drive, Atlanta 30331. Free onsite parking is available.

The forum will provide community residents, parents and students with an opportunity to hear “first hand” from the candidates on important issues. The forum will be moderated by Cathy Richards, president of the Atlanta Planning Advisory Board (APAB).

·         District 7 – Courtney English and Nisha Simama

 

·         District 8 - Cynthia Briscoe Brown, Reuben McDaniel and Mark Riley

 

·         District 9 - Jason Esteves, Lori James and Ed Johnson

 

Early voting period begins October 14 and ends November 1. Time and dates vary by location. Please contact Fulton County Government for specific information. Election day is Tuesday, November 5.

The League of Women Votes of Atlanta-Fulton County (LWVAF), a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
