1 Injured in Boiler Explosion on Clark Atlanta's Campus

1 person is reported injured.

One person has been reported injured after a boiler/heating unit exploded on the campus of Clark Atlanta University. 

The incident occurred at 830 Westview Drive in a section of the AUC where Spelman, Clark and Morehouse all meet.  A service technician was working on the boiler when it exploded.  He was treated for minor wounds from the accident.

APD and Atlanta Fire were called to the scene, but no deaths or serious injuries were reported. The school campuses are empty for the most part, due to the Christmas break.

From the attached photos you can see that multiple windows were blown out and various doors buckled with the force of the explosion.  The brick building seems to be in tact, with no major damage.

Investigators are continuing to work on determining the cause of the explosion.
