Apply for a Choice Neighborhood Micro-Grant and Help the Community

Monday is the deadline for AHA's Choice Neighborhood Planning grant application.

According to the Atlanta Housing Authority, The Choice Neighborhoods Grant Application is quickly coming to its Monday deadline.  It is imperative if you and your community organization or neighborhood want a piece of the free money, that you fill out the attached application and send it in.

The program is a small grants program funded by AHA and Annie E. Casey Foundation that is available for entities, organizations, businesses (for-profit and non-profit) located within the Choice Neighborhoods boundaries.  NPUs are eligible.

The grants must be for demonstrated activities that support the health, education, economic self-sufficiency and/or public safety of neighborhood residents.

These micro-grants must 1) further the goals of the Choice/Promise Neighborhoods Initiatives; 2) empower community organizations and residents to action in addressing community-based needs; 3) create opportunities for on-going community engagement.

Grants will likely range from $500 - $3,000 and we anticipate awarding 6 – 10 grants, depending on applications.  All work must be completed by July 25th, 2012.
