Birthday Party Shootout on Stanton Road, Over $10 Bag of Weed

Officer Kim Jones with the Atlanta Police Department informed Cascade Patch of a late night Sunday incident in which over 10 shots were fired, leaving multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the police narrative, "On Sunday June 23, 2013 I Ofc. Rana (1408) was dispatched to 1700 Stanton Rd SW in reference to a person shot," the reporting officer goes on to say, "I attempted to speak with witnesses on the scene and was advised that a black male named Mr. Clark shot her friend Mr. Slay."

Witnesses told police officers that, "the incident started over a $10 bag of marijuana."  One witness told police that a female named called over Mr. Clark afterwards got into an argument with someone at the birthday party.  Multiple shots were then fired.

"There were four 9mm shell casings and seven .380 shell casings located at the scene for a total of 11 shell casings. All of the .380 shell casings were right in front of the apartment were Mr. Slay was while the four 9mm shell casings were in parking lot were Mr. Clark was," said the Atlanta Police department.

The responding officers wrote in his report that, "no one at the scene would advise me if Mr. Slay shot back at Mr. Clark, but Mr. Clark did show up at Atlanta Medical Center a few minutes after the shooting occurred with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Mr. Slay sustained a gunshot wound under his right armpit. Mr. Slay was transported by Grady bus 300. I was advised that a woman drove Mr. Clark to Atlanta Medical Center."

Both males were listed in stable condition at their respective hospitals, there were no fatalities.

No arrests seem to have been made at the time of this reporting.  APD says they are still investigating and talking to witnesses.
