City Council Declares today as Harriet Tubman Day - The Tubman Family to Meet at Greenbriar

July 6th declared as Harriet Tubman Day by the Atlanta City Council

According to a recent Press Release submitted by Mr. Maynard Eaton:

On Monday, the Atlanta City Council proclaimed Friday, July 6, 2012 as in the City of Atlanta.   Descendants of Harriet Tubman will be in Atlanta this weekend celebrating their family reunion.

Sights and Sounds Black Cultural Museum Exhibit at (2841 Greenbriar Parkway Southwest Atlanta, GA 30331) will host the Tubman family in the museum on July 6, 2012 from 11:00am-2:00pm.

The Proclamation will be read and presented to the oldest surviving relative of Mrs. Tubman, her Great Grand Niece Geraldine Copes Daniels.  The Tubman Family will perform a skit on the life of Mrs. Tubman. 

The public is invited to come out and share in the presentation to this historic family.
