Day Care Van Cited for Poor Tires

The owner told CBS Atlanta that the issue is being addressed.

A Southwest Atlanta day care, cited for transporting children in a van with unsafe tires, has taken the vehicle out of commission until new tires are put on.

The citation by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning comes after CBS Atlanta said it observed a van of A Thru Z Childcare and Learning Center with bald tires.

The day care's owner, Irma Williams, told CBS Atlanta that child safety is a top priority.

The state has given the center 10 days to fix the tire issue, CBS Atlanta said.

The center said it's also taking care of other issues the state cited it for a few months ago, such as peeling floor tiles.
