Early Morning Smash & Grab at Foot Locker on Metropolitan Pkwy

Thieves drove a stolen vehicle through the window of the Foot Locker on Metropolitan, Monday morning.

Early morning thieves targeted the Foot Locker located in the 2600 block of Metropolitan Parkway on Monday morning for a "smash & grab" using a stolen Dodge to break their way into the store and steal as much as possible.

On 1/28/2013 at approximately 0250 hrs. Zone 3 units responded to a burglary in progress at 2640 Metropolitan Pkwy. (Foot Locker), which was called in by a security guard working across the street at the Dialysis Clinic.  Upon their arrival zone 3 units observed substantial damage to the front of the business and a Dodge Intrepid abandoned in the parking lot.  The business alarm was still audible.

The crash into the front glass of the store occurred at approximately 3 a.m., Monday morning.  According to a report in the AJC, more than a dozen criminals ran into the store after the vehicle broke open an entrance way.

Police say that the car that was used to break in the business, was a stolen Dodge Intrepid which was stolen out of Clayton County.  In addition, the company that was called out this morning to fix the door told one reporter that this is the 2nd Foot Locker in a week that he has been called out to repair a broken door/entry way.

In the video, it seems like certain individuals targeted Adidas items.  Be on the lookout for people trying to sell Adidas products to you on the street or via websites like Craigslist.

Investigators are seeking assistance in identifying the suspects in this case and are asking anyone with information on this robbery to call Zone 3 investigators at (404) 230-6104/6105 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
