Update: The Georgia DOL office located on Martin Luther King is closed again on Tuesday.

The Georgia Department of Labor’s South Metro Career Center, located at 2636-14 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in Atlanta, was closed Monday, Aug. 20, due to water damage and will be closed again on Tuesday. Staff members at the career center will be assigned to other GDOL locations.  The center will be listed as "day-to-day" until he issue can be fixed, according to Wayne Mack of the GDOL.

John Ard, in the GDOL Communications office, says that the cause of the water damage has, "yet to be determined, but it looks like it may be due to burst pipes."  Ard thought more would come out later today about the facility and when it may re-open, but as of close of business the only know fact is that the location will be closed tomorrow as well.

GDOL will continue to provide services at other career centers. Other career centers in the metro Atlanta area include:

-Gwinnett Career Center, 2211 Beaver Ruin Road, Norcross; and
-Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Rd., Marietta.
