Kimberly Elementary Lands First Carson Reading Room in Georgia

School now houses one of 63 Carson Reading Rooms in the country.

Kimberly Elementary School has become the first school in the state of Georgia with a Dr. Benjamin Carson Reading Room.

Candy Carson, wife of world renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Benjamin Carson, Delta Air Lines representatives and and Atlanta Public Schools officials celebrated the opening of the reading room Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Ben Carson Reading Project is one of the many educational programs implemented by the Carson Scholars Fund. Ben Carson Reading Rooms are designed to encourage young students and their families to discover the pleasure found in independent leisure reading and to recognize the true power of learning. Carson credits reading as being the catalyst to his success and hopes to share this message with students.
