Scott Announces Scholarships

The 13th district congressman's office has released a list of available scholarship opportunities for students.

U.S. Rep. David Scott, D-13, whose congressional district includes portions of southwest Atlanta, has announced the availability of the 2012 Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation scholarships.

“I know firsthand the difference scholarships can make for students because scholarships helped me make my way through college," Scott said. "With ever-rising tuition costs, these scholarships can help our students meet their financial obligations to attend college.”

The scholarships were established in 1988 in response to federal cuts in education spending. The scholarships are awarded in the Congressional Districts of each member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
