Southwest Atlanta Alternative Medical Team to Blog for Cascade Patch

Opare Integrative Health Care owners to blog about how to get well and stay well in 2012 and beyond.

Dr. Nana Kwaku Opare and Ama Thandiwe Opare, co-owners of Opare Integrative Health Care (OIHC) located near Cascade Road and Research Center Drive near The Home Depot, are set to begin blogging for Cascade Patch this week.

Opare Integrative Health Care provides integrated traditional Chinese medicine, osteopathic manual medicine, nutritional medicine, and standard allopathic medicine. Programs and services offered include Healthy Gourmet living foods classes, Conscious Vegan nutrition program, supervised juice fasting, Hatha yoga, and therapeutic massage. 

The Opare’s recognize the power of healthy eating and lifestyle to prevent or reverse the diseases that plague our society. They are dedicated to sharing this message and to providing the tools and support people need to make healthier lifestyle choices. This commitment to health education extends to the wider community through public speaking, community events, blogs, newsletters and social media. Dr. Opare’s first book, "The Rule Book and Users Guide To Health Living" is due out this spring.

Dr. Opare earned his BS in Food Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of California Berkeley, MD at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and CA at the San Francisco College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He has studied Osteopathic Manual Medicine at Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine for 20 years. Opare lived and practiced medicine in the San Francisco Bay area for over 30 years, bringing his healing arts to Atlanta in 2006.

Opare is a pioneer in the natural integrative medicine field. He is a long-term vegan and a more recent living food lifestyle practitioner and advocate. He has practiced Eastern and Western Medicine for more than a quarter century. Opare has been fascinated with the human organisms ability if properly cared for, to right itself from the vast majority of illness from which we suffer.

He guides his patients in diet and lifestyle changes that reverses and frees them from serious life threatening conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerotic vascular disease, and impotence. He developed the Opare Method™, which combines acupuncture and osteopathic manual medicine in the treatment of sports and occupational conditions of the neck, back, wrists, ankles and feet.

Ama Thandiwe Opare, earned a BS in Education at Central Michigan University, MS in Early Childhood Education and, her MS in Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University. She is an artist, a gourmet raw vegan chef, a lifelong educator and an experienced program director. Her priority is to develop and provide exceptional programs and engaging resources to support the work of Dr. Opare and the healing journey of their patients. As the web master and designer Ama is building an on-line health resource and communicates regularly through social media.
