Westlake Student Leads Hands On Atlanta Project

Kameron Jones was a project leader during a recent Hands On Atlanta cleanup effort.


Kameron Jones, a 10th grade Business and Finance Career Academy student at , recently participated in Global Youth Service Day, sponsored by Hands On Atlanta.

On April 17, Jones served as a site project coordinator for "Keep North Fulton Beautiful," where he managed 12 volunteers.

He organized his team to load 300 electronic items onto a recycling truck and reported impact/outcomes for Hands on Atlanta funding purposes.

According to Marcia Webb-Hayes, Hands On Atlanta staff and project manager, "Kameron was one of the younger project coordinator. But his level of maturity and respect for viable outcomes and thoroughness impressed everyone."

Hands on Atlanta is the local lead agency for the 2012 Global Youth Service Day held on Saturday, April 17, 2012. All activities were lead by youth from greater Atlanta high schools endeavoring to make an impact on their community and provide a positive source of inspiration for their peers.
