10 time Gospel Grammy Nominee Marvin Sapp urges voters to support Alisha Thomas Morgan for State School Superintendent

State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan’s bid for state school superintendent continues to build momentum with an endorsement from 10-time Gospel Grammy Nominee Marvin Sapp.

Sapp describes Morgan as a public servant who has already demonstrated her commitment to making a difference across a number of organizations. “Alisha is a former NAACP College President, member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, and a Spelman graduate,” said Sapp.

In a recorded telephone message, Sapp urged voters to support Morgan in the July 22 runoff. “As parents we have to do everything in our power to ensure that our children are getting the high quality education they deserve.”

Morgan is honored to have the backing of educators in Georgia and across the country. “I am energized with every endorsement and with every vote,” said Morgan. “All of our children deserve a world-class education and I am welcome all students, parents, community members and education leaders to join me in our fight for Georgia’s children.”

Morgan has spent 12 years as a legislator standing up for Georgia’s children. She understands public policy and how to work with lawmakers to meet the needs of All Georgians. She currently serves as an advisor to the U.S. Department of Education. Morgan has also served as a peer reviewer assessing grant applications from school districts across the country.
