Friendship Baptist Church Hosts The "Keeping Our Children Safe" Workshop on Human Sex Trafficking

 HISTORIC FRIENDSHIP
BAPTIST CHURCH invites the community to an urgent Outreach Workshop on the
growing problems of Human Sex Trafficking of children, teens and young adults
in metro Atlanta. The “Keeping Our Children Safe” workshop will be held at
Friendship Baptist Church on Saturday, October 26th at 10 am, located at 437
Mitchell St., on the corner of Northside Drive and MLK, Jr. Dr.

This workshop is part of Friendship Baptist Church’s 2013
Women’s Month activities. Speakers for the workshop will include professionals
from: Fulton County’s District Attorneys’ Office Sex Trafficking Unit, the
Atlanta Police Departments’ Sex Crime Unit, the lead investigator from the GBI
Sex Crime Unit, three nonprofit organizations specializing in childhood sexual
abuse, training, prevention and resources, and an awarding winning film
director.  Two survivors will share their
story.

“The women at Friendship Church are determined to make a
mark in this community toward ending child sex trafficking.  The stories from the survivors will make you
shed tears.  We invite the community to
come out and learn more about what we must do,” said Ms. Margie Shannon
Telfair, chairperson of the program committee.
