Fulton Aviation Community Cultural Center to Break Ground June 27

Vice Chair Emma I. Darnell and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners have announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the Fulton County Aviation Community Cultural Center.

A 16,200 square-foot facility scheduled to open in May 2014, the Center has been designed as a community gathering place focusing on the history of North American Aviation, training for aviation careers, visual and performing arts.

Initiated by a community advisory group in 1999, the Project was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ("the Stimulus Fund") and approved by the Board of Commissioners in 2010.

"It has been a long process; however, the potential benefit to surrounding neighborhoods and the larger Fulton County community is exciting," said Vice Chair Darnell."
