Spelman College Sisters Chapel/WISDOM Center Launches Faith Based Leadership Series

Spelman College Sisters Chapel/WISDOM Center will commence its Faith Based Leadership Series Tuesday, Nov. 12, with guest speaker the Rev. Natosha Reid Rice, associate pastor of the women’s ministry at Ebenezer Baptist Church and associate general counsel for Habitat for Humanity International. Rice, whose professional and volunteer work encompasses providing a voice to the voiceless, empowering women of faith, and creating opportunities for historically-disadvantaged communities, will share her story as part of the first lecture “Women at the Intersection of Faith, Justice and Leadership.”

According to the Rev. Lisa Rhodes, D.Min., dean of Sisters Chapel and director of the WISDOM Center, the lecture series is designed to engage Spelman students, faculty and staff and the broader Atlanta community in conversations about making connections between mind, body and spirit. The lecture series will help to build upon faculty, student and community engagement while constructing faith-based models for holistic development and ethical leadership.

The lecture series will extend through spring 2014 and include the following speakers:
•Marilyn Davis, Ph.D., associate professor, political science, Spelman College, Jan. 21
•Rosetta Ross, Ph.D., professor, religion, Spelman College, Feb. 4
•Cynthia Spence, Ph.D,  associate professor, sociology and anthropology, Spelman College, March 4

The Spelman College Sisters Chapel/WISDOM Center Faith Based Leadership Series is free and open to the public.
