Zion Hill Baptist Church "Oukumo" Rites of Passing Closing Ceremony

The 2013 Class of the Zion Hill Baptist Church Rites of Passage Program, themed "African Gems", will graduate 55 students ages 13-18, symbollizing their crossover from youth to adulthood. The public is invited to witness this very festive ceremony at Zion Hill Baptist Church.

The program is in its 19th year, offered to youth from Zion Hill and others throughout the community free of charge.  More than 400 students have completed the program comprised of 13 weeks of class session under the supervision and guidance of the "elders" of the church who share their expertise and experiences with the youth.  Student emerge with the prestige of having completed a highly valued program and the satisfaction of having taken some important steps in progressing from childhood to adulthood.
