Mission Statement

The mission of the Education Committee is to educate, engage, and execute concerns and ideas residents of Atlanta committed to contributing to public education, the Atlanta Board of Education and, other influencing institutions. 

Sub ends for accomplishing above mission:

  • Assign an APAB Education Committee
         member to foster a NPU
  • Attend all NPU meetings at least once quarterly
  • Define, establish implement an community engagement process that promotes inclusion
  • Recognize and foster the contributions that differences make to the civic and political
    process
  • Promote civic participation consistent with the mission
  • Promote fair, ethical and socially responsible members and leaders.

Purpose

  • The Education Committee purpose is to be a liaison between the 25-NPUs and APAB members on education issues within the City of Atlanta.
  • To support the NPU channels by developing processes to address concerns and suggestions related to education (public, private, higher education, and
    other education alternatives)
  • To present current issues, industry trends on the most efficient ways to navigate through systems of learning in order to facilitate the community involvement process.
