Fulton and Community Partners Host Celebration for Children and Families in Need

Children and families in need and outstanding students will be the focus of a “Community Cares” Christmas Celebration on Friday, December 20, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  The event will feature distribution of toys, clothing, non-perishable items and recognition of students who have demonstrated academic excellence and perfect attendance.  Community partners supporting the event with entertainment, food, resources and giveaways include Fulton County Housing and Human Services Department, Office of Children and Youth, V103 FM, Music Education Group (MEG), Treasure Chest, Inc., and other caring sponsors.

Families who participate will enjoy a free evening of skating, bowling, games, entertainment and much more.  Additionally, special celebrity guests will be present for photos, autographs and performances. Parents and guardians will enjoy grooming and beauty services offered by sponsoring cosmetic brands and professional stylists during a special day that will accommodate people of all ages and genders.

Members of the public who want to contribute to the success of the event can donate toys, non-perishable foods, clothing, toiletries and household cleaning supplies. Other items needed include popcorn, popcorn machines and soft drinks.  Donors can leave items at MetroPlex Lanes and Games located at 1959 Metropolitan Parkway SW, Atlanta, GA 30315.
