Congrats! Councilmember Joyce Sheperd is one of Atlanta's Top 100 Black Women

Wow, we just received word that Councilwoman Joyce Sheperd from District 12 was also named one of Atlanta's Top 100 Women of Influence by the Atlanta Business League on Tuesday morning!  The councilwoman joins two of her colleagues in accepting this great award. As we reported, Councilperson Keisha Bottoms also was awarded along with Councilperson Natalyn Archibong who represents most of East Atlanta.

For nearly 20 years, the Atlanta Business League has recognized business owners, professionals, community, and civic leaders in metro Atlanta who have reached senior level positions; are leading entrepreneurs in their industry; have proven history-making feats; or have attained the ability to influence large public bodies politically and in government.

“It was wonderful to be recognized this morning at the Women of Vision Breakfast with such a group of distinguished Atlanta women,” said Councilmember Sheperd. “I am grateful to Atlanta Business League for this acknowledgment and their vision and commitment.”

Rising from experience as chair of her Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU X) and other community organizations, Councilmember Sheperd is in the full swing of her third term as council representative for District 12. She is a champion for community education, neighborhood safety, economic development, jobs and more.
