Shatikey and Demiya Griffin's Family Witnesses Arraignment 1 Year After Murders

Murders of Shatikey and Demiya Griffin Included In 23-Count Indictment Of Joseph Leonard Smith As One-Year Mark Approaches

On Thursday September 12, 2013, at 9:30am, the Shatikey and Demiya Griffin family will be at Courtroom 5C, at the Fulton County Superior Courthouse, to witness the arraignment of Joseph Leonardo Smith.  Smith will be read an indictment of 23 counts by Judge Alfred Dempsey which includes the murders of Shatikey (age 34) and Demiya (age 12) Griffin.

The arraignment takes place as the one-year mark of their murders – Sept. 23, 2012 – approaches.

“Out of this family’s courage, they are taking actions to ensure no other family suffers what they have suffered,” shares Griffin family Spokesperson Al Bartell.

The Griffin family is approaching legislators to have the Georgia General Assembly pass the Shatikey and Demiya Predatory Violence Prevention Act during the 2014 Legislative session.
