Today we are celebrating the work of Nia Knowles who is a mother, educator, real estate agent and NPU-T Chairperson.

I ran into Nia just a few days ago as she was shopping at Kroger to bring lunch to a group of children that she home schools. I already knew she was a busy and determined woman, but I was in awe to hear that she alos home schools children.

As the NPU-T Chair she is an ultimate West End neighborhood advocate.  She brings to light issues that affect the community and fights to have them resolved in as quick a manner as possible.

You may also know her as one of our local real estate agents.  She specializes in getting abandoned or foreclosed homes sold so that they do not become blights on the neighborhood. Of course, she has her work cut out for her in these difficult times, but everyday she continues on to try to keep our neighborhoods as beautiful as ever.
