Get Out! Cascade Patch's Weekend Planner

Patch offers a variety of choices for your weekend activities.

The weekend is almost here, and you may be wondering what to do.

Cascade Patch feels your pain and wants to fill up your weekend with wonderful activities. There is something going on for everyone, so look down at the list below and see what tweaks your interest.

1. Conversation and signing at Medu:

Where/When: Medu Bookstore, 2841 Greenbriar Pkwy., Saturday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Event: Medu Bookstore, a mainstay at Greenbriar mall for over 20 years, opens its doors and brings Lifelines: A Black Book of Proverbs. Listen to exerts of the book and hear why these exceptional women wrote the words that fill this powerful book. One of the authors, Askhari Johnson Hodari, will be on hand for this conversation and to sign books. 2. March Madness: Road to the Final Four

Where/When: Ultimate Bar & Grill, 3515 Camp Creek Pkwy., East Point. Games start at Noon on Friday and played throughout the day and evening and finishes Sunday evening in route to the Regionals.

The Event: The brackets have been set and the question is, How long will Cinderella dance and what number one seed will go down 1st. Will it be defending champ Duke; the Buckeye’s of Ohio State; the Jayhawks of Kansas or the beast from the Big East, Pitt. Of course on the lady’s side the only question is can anyone de-thrown UConn. While watching your favorite team or filling out your brackets, fill your mouth with nachos, quesadillas and of course wings, then wash it down with your favorite beverage and enjoy the March to the Final Four.

3. Wine tasting @ WineStyles:

Where/When: WineStyles Cascade, 3752 Cascade Rd., Suite #140. Saturday, 4 p.m.

The Event: Wine tasting in a relaxing atmosphere to taste different types and styles of wine. You want the taste of Italy, South Africa and Napa Valley to name a few then you do not have to go to those areas or a winery on the outskirts of the city. You can come to your own area and experience different wines from these areas and more right here at WineStyles on Cascade. Try wines that are bold to bubbly and calm to dry while learning about them.
