THANK YOU SO MUCH! We made it to the runoff! Dec. 3rd, here we come…

Dear Friends,

I cannot thank you enough for your overwhelming support on November 5th!  With your support, I received the most votes for the Atlanta Board of Education, District 6 seat but not enough to win the general election. Therefore, we are headed to the Runoff Election on December 3rd!  Again, I need your support!

I decided to run for Atlanta Board of Education because of what Dr. King called a “fierce urgency of now.” I am running for our children and to restore the highest quality of a great public education to all of our children. And, now is the time.

Over the past few months, you attended several forums, received several pieces of mail and saw too many yard signs. Now, you must make a choice, and I strongly ask for you to make the RIGHT choice. The state of our schools and the future of children are at stake, especially in South Atlanta.

My message is clear: every child deserves a great education, and I will fight to make that a reality.  We must address the issue of inequity in our schools and move towards a system that places resources in our most challenging areas, academically and geographically. Investment in early education must be a top priority for our schools. We must cut wasteful spending and give more autonomy to our school leaders. Parental and community involvement is key, and as your school board member, I will be completely accessible and transparent to make this happen.

What I’ve learned, as an Atlanta native, former teacher in APS, public interest attorney and director of an early-education program, is that change in our schools must happen from the top down to have the greatest impact from the bottom up. I cannot only speak about what needs to be done, but I have played an integral part to get it done.

Our children deserve transformative leaders who have experience in our schools, worked in our communities and fought tirelessly to improve education for all of our children. I strongly ask for your support in this crucial runoff election on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd. This is an historic opportunity to transform our school district.

Feel free to contact me at (404) 692-1395, or eshe@collinsforkids.com, if you have any questions or concerns.

Again, thank you so much for your support! I look forward to meeting you soon!

Best Regards,

Eshe'
