2013 Atlanta Quilt Festival Opens July 28th at South Fulton Arts Center

The 2013 Atlanta Quilt Festival opens Sunday, July 28th at noon at South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road, College Park, GA. The Festival will feature a juried exhibit of over 40 quilts, a special exhibit of Emancipation Quilts, and a special exhibit of Journal Quilts.

During the Opening Reception, enjoy quilt and dollmaking demonstrations, and shop at the Festival Quilt Market. The Opening Reception is from noon - 4 p.m.

Well known quilter Aisha Lumumba will lecture and show her quilts Saturday, August 3rd after leading a Master Quilt Class earlier in the day. The lecture is at South Fulton Arts Center, and the cost is $10 at the door.

The Festival continues through August 10th with quilt appraisals and a dollmaking class at Hammonds House Museum. Visit www.ClaraFordFoundation.org and HammondsHouse.org for more details.
