2 Shot, Others Robbed Inside an Illegal West End Gambling Hall

Gamblers get more than what they bargained for in the West End.

During the early morning Tuesday hours, an illegal gambling hall was raided by at least 2 gunmen, who got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to an APD spokesperson, "Unit 1401 was dispatched to 568 Poole Place on a person shot call @ 12:18 am. Upon arrival it was discovered that two victims had been shot, one in the leg and one in the stomach."  The business is in the rear of West End Village, according to WSB.

Both of the shooting victims were in stable condition at Grady Hospital.  There was a third person that fell into cardiac arrest when the police arrived, and they were also transported to Grady.  One of the persons shot was the security guard.

Ofc. Kim Jones told Cascade Patch, that, "it appears the location is a gambling hall and the customers were victims of a robbery. The suspects were described as 3 black males driving a silver Ford Taurus."

The APD Vice Unit was called to the scene and is still investigating the crime.
