APD Arrest Suspect in December's Double Shooting on Boone Blvd. and West Lake

An arrest has been made in the brazen homicide that took place along Joseph Boone, near West Lake Ave.

The Atlanta Police Department's Fugitive Unit arrested a key suspect in the double shooting that occurred on December 30th that left a club owner dead and others shot.

According to Officer Kim Jones, "Brandon Kirkland, 22, (was picked up) on a murder warrant for this case."  Kirkland was charged with Homicide and transported to Fulton County Jail.

On December 30, 2013 approximately 4:43 pm, Zone One Units were dispatched to 1575 Joseph E. Boone Blvd. NW on a person shot call.  When the officers arrived, they noticed; Amin Bouchelaghem unresponsive with head injuries, Mr. Brooks with a defect to his back, and Mr. McGee Jr. with injuries to his leg. Amin Bouchelaghem was deceased on scene, but Grady EMT transported surviving injured victims to Grady Hospital for further medical treatment.

The preliminary investigation suggests that  listed victims were at the location to conduct a business meeting when two black male suspects approached listed victims with guns drawn. The suspects fired several shots at the victims and fled the scene after the gunshots were fired.
