An Atlanta police officer was involved in a crash after the Atlanta Hawks game on Monday night.

At around 10 p.m. the officer's bike flipped at the intersection of Marietta and Spring streets, in downtown Atlanta.

More than a dozen officers were nearby directing traffic as the Philips Arena began to let out. They quickly rushed to the officer's aid and began providing immediate assistance. The injured officer was conscious and alert, but was not allowed to move until an ambulance arrived.

The officers treating the crash victim on the scene paid special attention to his neck, though from my vantage point across the street, it did not look like a serious life-threatening emergency, he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

He was released Tuesday morning, Officer Kim Jones, an Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman told East Atlanta Patch.
