APD Officer Charged for Car Accident that Killed Jacqueline Culp on Cascade Rd.

Joshua Sieck is the APD officer that is being charged for causing another driver's death.

Update: The Atlanta Police say they have fired Officer Sieck. (7/27)

APD officer Joshua Sieck has been charged with 2nd degree vehicular homicide after his patrol car ran into Jacqueline Culp's BMW and caused her death, according to CBS and APD reports.

CBS Atlanta is reporting that, "Joshua Sieck was running an emergency call when the crash happened just before 5 p.m. on July 21."

The crash is still under investigation by the Fulton County Police Department. On September 5 at the South Fulton Magistrate Court, Officer Sieck will have his first court appearance.

Funeral service for Mrs. Jacqueline ("Jackie") Robinson Culp will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Fellowship of Faith Church International, 2553 Connally Dr., East Point, GA with Pastor Wayne C. Thompson, Senior Pastor, officiating.

Interment, South-View Cemetery. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 10 a.m. Survivors are her husband, Ralph Culp, Jr.; son Jamal (Ruhi) Robinson of Garner, NC; daughter, Ebonee R. Culp of Atlanta; a host of other relatives and friends.

I am so sorry that this happened......You know what a few years a go an APD officer almost caused me and this other driver to have an accident due to a chase (if I remember correctly). The officer was probably going 65 mph in a 35-45 mph area. The chase was coming the opposite direction of me driving but I didn't know until I came over a hill. I had to turn on the curve immediately to keep from hitting the driver that swerved in my lane because officer swerved around in to on coming traffic to get around the person in front of him. Smh. My prayers go out to the victim and the victim's family....

I pray for the families of both Officer Joshua Sieck (who fought and served our country in Iraq) and Mrs. Culp. It's sad when trying to save a life, responding to a emergency situation, ends up costing you everything.
