Atlanta Police Seek Suspects in Fairburn Road Shooting

A man has survived being shot multiple times on Monday morning, March 18th, 2013


Atlanta Police Department investigators are actively looking for leads and suspects that were involved in a shooting that occurred just after midnight on Monday morning on Fairburn Road, near Barge Road SW.

According to Public Affairs Officer, Kim Jones, "the victim advised that he was walking with a female from the bus stop on Fairburn Road when two male juveniles jumped out of the bushes as he got to 2010 Fairburn Road."  Jones says that she, "was advised that the suspects did not say anything to (the victim) or try to take anything from him, but just pointed a gun at him and fired several times."

The victim in this case was not killed, although he suffered multiple gunshots.  The shooter attempted to shoot more rounds from his gun, but the weapon got jammed the victim told police.

"The victim advised that after the gun jammed the juveniles ran to a dark colored Dodge caravan and left the area," said Officer Jones.

The victim was transported to Grady Hospital in stable condition.
