Atlanta Police Share Video to Find Fair Street Armed Robber

Investigators hope someone will recognize the suspect in a surveillance video and submit a tip to Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Atlanta police are asking for help in finding a suspect who assaulted and robbed several employees at a business at 1021 Fair Street in Atlanta.

Officers responded to the business robbery on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m., according to Officer John Chaffee of Atlanta Police Public Affairs. Once they arrived, they learned a man had approached several employees as they were leaving the store. The Fair Street Superette is located at that address.

The man produced a handgun and forced them back inside the store, where police say he assaulted and robbed them. One of the victims had a laceration to his head that was caused when the suspect struck him in the head with the gun. Another victim also suffered an injury to her head as the suspect forced them back into the store. The victims said the man shot the gun into the air once they were inside.

The suspect took the injured man's wallet and cellphone before taking an undetermined amount of cash from the store's two registers.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a large build.  He was wearing a dark coat, dark hooded jacket and dark jeans.

 Surveillance cameras captured the incident, and investigators are asking for assistance in identifying the suspect.

Tipsters do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $2,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
