Candlelight Vigil Tonight, Funeral Friday for East Point Firefighter Carl Blake

Family, friends, and the community prepare to say final goodbye to Carl Blake

The East Point Fire Department has just released the details for how they prepare to mourn the loss of Carl Blake, one of their best firefighters.

The family will be holding a candlelight vigil tonight at the location of his death at 7:30 p.m.

Carl Blake was killed while allegedly loosing control of his motorcycle bike near 2300 block of Jones Road in Northwest Atlanta.  Though the firefighter was wearing a helmet, her was launched in the air when his bike struck the curb and Carl then struck a utility pole and died on the scene.

Firefighter Blake will be given a traditional Firefighter’s Funeral. The Service will be held tomorrow, Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church located at 1500 Norman Drive in College Park, Georgia 30349. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery located at 1173 Cascade Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30311. - East Point Fire Department
