Caution - Coyotes Reported within NPU-I Neighborhoods

NPU-I Residents have spotted coyotes on the loose

The NPU-I meeting that took place on Wednesday, June 20th was ended on a rather scary yet knowledgeable note.

A resident stood up to warn her fellow neighbors that she has seen packs of coyotes on the loose in NPU-I and passed on knowledge of what the city told her that we can do about them.

According to the resident, trappers will catch the animals for you, but at a hefty price nearing $500.  She suggested that the whole neighborhood or street collect funds to do this, if necessary.  She was also told by Animal Control that they cannot capture wild animals, so that a private "trapper" was the only route to go.

It is also good to note, that residents can shoot coyotes if they have a registered gun.

Coyotes are known for killing pets and livestock, so it is a good idea to keep your pets inside overnight, or to make sure there are no ways that coyotes can get to you animals.
