Come Out to the East Point Health Awareness Festival & Job Fair on Saturday

The City of East Point Fire Department along with its Partners and Sponsors will tackle health concerns, obesity and nutrition at its 8th Annual Health Fair.


Today, Saturday, April 13th, families and neighbors throughout the City of East Point and greater SW Atlanta will gather at the annual Health Awareness Festival being held at East Point Fire Station #1, located at 2757 East Point Street.

This year is the 8th year of the festival and will include a special job fair as well. 

According to the East Point Fire Department, "the Health Awareness Festival annually provides a variety of free Health Screenings which have included, but are not limited to breast, diabetes, HIV, sickle cell, cholesterol and glucose, blood pressure and weight/BMI/body fat testing."

Families with small children will have fun in the Kid’s Zone, where children can partake in games and exercise.  The Health Awareness Festival will also provide free food, entertainment, prize giveaways and radio station KISS 104.1-FM will be doing a live remote.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in downtown East Point.

Sponsors of the event include the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation, New York Life and Company, Duke Realty, Central Station Sports Café, Kiku Japanese Restaurant, Spondivits, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. East Point/College Park Alumnae Chapter.  Organizations and businesses serving as Partners include Atlanta Masonic District No.3 West Prince Hall Masons and Eastern Stars, East Point NORC, Unique Corvettes of Atlanta, Reddy Ice, East Point Police Department and City of East Point Parks & Recreation.
