Did You See? Family Dollar the Site of More Crime Over the Weekend

According to APD a cashier is in good condition after being stabbed by a customer at the Family Dollar along Cascade Road, near the West End.  The police reports states that the incident occurred on Sunday, October 13th.

The responding officer wrote in his report, "upon my arrival I was met by the female victim who advised she was stabbed by a male who came into the store and attempted to shoplift."  The victim, who is also a cashier at the store, told the officer that the male suspect is, "known to come into the store and steal items, and when the cashier noticed his stealing she asked him to return the items."

It was at this crucial point where the suspect decided to stab the cashier in the stomach.  According to the report, the young woman then struggled for her life to try to keep from being stabbed again.

"The witness advised that she and the male got into a struggle for the knife as she tried to protect herself from being stabbed again.  She advised she was stabbed again in the chest during the struggle," said the APD officer.

There were multiple witnesses that saw the entire event and then saw the suspect take off running from out the store.  " The suspect appeared to be a black male, slim build, blue jeans, with a black or dark blue shirt," say police. He is known to frequent the area.

The victim was transported to Grady and was in good condition from her wounds.
