Fatal Wreck at Camp Creek Pkwy and Welcome All Road Kills Decatur Woman

A vehicle attempting to make a left on Welcome All Road, ran into another vehicle and pushed it to the wood line. One of the drivers were struck while exiting the car.


Georgia State Patrol and Atlanta Police investigators responded to the scene of a fatal crash that took the life of a 52 year-old woman on Camp Creek Parkway near Welcome All Road, on Monday morning.

According to a Georgia State Patrol report, "around 7 a.m. today, a vehicle was attempting to make a left turn onto Welcome All Road when the driver struck another vehicle, pushing that vehicle into the wood line." The initial accident was not fatal for either drivers, but one of the drivers got out of the car and was struck by oncoming traffic.

According to early reporting by the AJC, "the driver that hit the vehicle got out of her car and was going to check on the other driver when she was hit by an oncoming BMW."

All lanes of Camp Creek Parkway in both directions were closed for hours as investigators took charge of the scene.  The driver that was part of the first accident and pushed to the wood line, was transported to Grady Hospital.  The driver of the BMW that fatally hit the female driver as she exited, stayed on the scene with police.  It is not initially clear if he/she will be charged with a crime.

Georgia State Patrol has identified the victim who died at the scene as Toni Gayle Willis, 52, from Decatur, GA.
