Gunfire Erupts at Movies ATL Theater

Moviegoers witness shooting; 29-year-old suspect arrested but three others escape.

Moviegoers witnessed more than they paid for at Movies ATL in the Camp Creek Marketplace district Thursday evening.

According to Atlanta Police Department spokesman John Chaffe, an off-duty officer patroling the area witnessed a pedestrian robbery in progress on the southside of the parking lot of the theater, at 3760 Princeton Lakes Pkwy.

Upon arriving on the scene of the altercation, one of the suspects pointed a gun at the officer. The officer fired several rounds towards the suspect, not striking him. That suspect, Paul Hester, 29, was arrested. Three more suspects escaped.
