APD Briefs NPU-S On Zone 4 Crime Stats

Zone 4 community liaisons also urge residents to sign up with Smart911.


Residential burglaries accounted for most of the crimes committed in NPU-S over the last month, according to Atlanta police officers who briefed the organization during its regular meeting last week.

Officers from the department's community liasion unit also urged residents to register for the city's Smart911 service.

"A lot of times an emergency phone call will come and we don't know a lot about what's going on at that location," Officer Ellis Smith said. "If you register with the Smart911 system, if we come to your location, we know if there's a dog on the premise; what kind of medications you may be taking, and other useful information."

Since the NPU-S' last meeting in January, the following crimes have been committed:

  • Robbery - 6
  • Aggravated Aassault - 10
  • Burglary (non-residential) - 2
  • Burglary (residental) - 22
  • Larceny - 6
  • Auto Theft - 13
  • Larceny (non-vehicular) - 17
