High Speed Chase Leaves Traffic Jam on Highway 166

Suspect injured from crash caused by chase that traveled through Buckhead into downtown Atlanta. Traffic was backed up for hours on the highway.

A high speed chase left traffic snarled for hours on Arthur Lankford Parkway east of the Greenbriar Mall area, Monday afternoon. 

According to a WSB report, the chase began in Dekalb County and ended on Highway 166. Officers reported that the chase started after a police stop of the driver not wearing his seat belt. 

The chase ended when the driver hit a retaining wall traveling west on Highway 166. The driver was apprehended and taken to Grady Hospital for possible internal injuries.
