UPDATE: Extensive Damage To J&J Beauty From Smash And Grab

Hair weaves were among the stolen items.

 

Atlanta police are investigating a smash-and-grab incident that happened early Wednesday morning at in Cascade.

Fox5Atlanta is reporting that police believe someone drove a U-haul truck into the storefront and stole about $2,000 worth of hair weaves.

CBS Atlanta is reporting that a store surveillance video shows the burglar stuffing hair pieces into a box before leaving on foot.

J & J Beauty Supply is located at the Sylvan Plaza in southwest Atlanta.

The store's owner, Joy Kim, told CBS Atlanta that repairing the store will cost thousands of dollars.

Theft of hair extentions and hair weaves have become more common Atlanta. In June, weave thieves in human hair products from another southwest Atlanta beauty supply store. In Midtown, Salon Moraee lost $8,000 worth of hair weaves in March.

A group of thieves almost made off with $13,000 in hair extensions in a Buckhead smash and grab in October, according to ajc.com. They crashed their getaway car into a tree and four suspects were arrested.
