Man Found Dead on Martin Luther King Dr. in Adamsville

1 suspect may already be in custody

A male body was found around 4 a.m. by a passerby on Martin Luther King Drive, who told APD dispatch that he possibly had a gunshot wound to the head.

The body was found unresponsive, by responding officers, at/near the Chevron Station close to the cross street of Adamsville Drive.  Police shut down Martin Luther King Drive as they investigated the murder.

According to the APD, "on today's date, approximately 4:20 am, Zone One units responded to a person shot call at 3660 Martin Luther King Junior Drive Southwest Atlanta, Georgia. Upon their arrival, a black male was found lying [on his back] in the roadway unresponsive. Grady Hospital Ambulance 364 responded and transported the victim to Grady Hospital, where tending physician, Doctor Chisletta pronounced the victim dead, at 5:05 am. The decedent had no identification on his person. The investigation is ongoing……"
 
According to WSB, a suspect is in custody.  The identity of the victim and suspect have not been released yet.
