(Updated) Man Shot 3 Times Tuesday Near Cleveland, Metropolitan

A man is in critical but stable condition this morning after being shot three times after getting up from a bench where he was sitting, local news is reporting.

Local news is reporting that Atlanta police are looking for three men wanted in connection with a shooting early Tuesday near the City Center Shopping Center at Cleveland Avenue and Metropolitian Parkway.

A witness told police that he and the victim were sitting on benches outside the CVS Pharmancy at Metropolitan and Cleveland when the suspect approached them, according to a story on The Atlanta Journal-Constitution website.

According to a CBS Atlanta website story, Captain Van Hobbs said the victim felt uneasy and got up to walk away. That's when the witness said two more men walked up and the victim began to run away, CBS reported.

The AJC story reported a different version of the incident. The story said that the victim was with two men on the bench and approached by three men. The two groups exchanged words, according to the AJC story, and when the victim walked off one of the other men shot him three times in the back.

The victim is in critical but stable condition at Grady Hospital. No one else was reported injured in the incident.

Police said the suspects are describes as tall, thin and wearing T-shirts and blue jeans.

There have been no arrests in the case.
