Masked Home Invader Fatally Shot by Father Wednesday

WXIA 11-Alive reporting South Fulton father fatally shot man who broke into home, shot at son early Wednesday.

Fulton County police say a South Fulton man fatally shot one of two masked men who broke into his home on Creel Road south of Camp Creek Parkway shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, according to a report from WXIA 11-Alive.

Fulton County Police Cpl. Kay Lester told the station that the two men kicked in the bedroom door of a 24-year-old man, demanded money and began shooting.

The man's father, in another room, grabbed a gun and opened fire on the two men. One of the suspects was fatally shot and died at the scene.

The other suspect fled in a vehicle.

Police say one of the bullets fired during the incident, struck a 71-year-old next-door neighbor in his home. The man is being treated at a hospital for a wound in his thigh. His injury is not considered life-threatening.

Police are not releasing the names of those involved, according to the report.
