Motorcyclist Shot on I-20 Near Hamilton E. Holmes Exit

Shots fired on I-20W sent a motorcyclist to Grady Hospital overnight.

Atlanta Police Spokesperson, Officer Kim Jones, has confrmed to Cascade Patch that reports of a man shot on I-20 last night are true.

According to Jones, "Mr. Antonio Collins stated he was on his motorcycle driving home from the Publix at 2900 Peachtree Road, his place of employment. He stated while on I-20 west he heard a loud crack and felt something hit his left shoulder. "

The victim stated he was close to the Hamilton E. Holmes Drive exit and that he got off on this exit unable to get a description of the shooters.

Officer Jones told Cascade Patch that the victim, "saw a White Ford Taurus next to him and watched it speed off down I-20 West. Mr. Collins stated he could not obtain a tag number."

Mr. Collins stated he was able to ride home to Center Hill Avenue where he discovered he was shot in his left shoulder. He called 911 from his home and was transported to Grady Hospital in stable condition.

APD are looking for leads into the case, but shared with Patch that currently they do not have a crime scene to help with the investigation because Collins was shot while moving and is currently unable to determine where exactly the shooting occurred on the highway.
