Murder Suspect Escapes Atlanta Fugitive Squad

Ecstasy, marijuana, and cocaine found in home, however, suspect not located.

According to Atlanta Police spokesman Curtis Davenport, at approximately 5 a.m. Wednesday the Atlanta Fugitive Squad arrived at the home of a potential murder suspect at 2555 Macon Dr. Upon assessment of the surrounding location, the S.W.A.T team was summoned to be a part of the investigation.

The S.W.A.T team did enter the residence. The murder suspect was not located within the home. However, a substantial amount of esctasy pills, marijuana, and cocaine were found within the home. 

Also, police located a stripped down Ford pickup truck and two motorcross bikes. The Narcotics and Auto Theft Task Force Units were summoned to continue the investigation.

The Atlanta Fugitive Squad is seeking information for Quinton Jones, 22. He is described as a black male, 5'6", and 145 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Jones is being saught for involvement in a murder of an individual within the parking lot of 1629 Lakewood Ave.

On June 13, 2011 at approximately 8:00 pm., several citizens had stopped a Zone 3 Unit police officer for a man lying within a parking lot.  The officer found the man unresponsive. 

Grady EMT and the Homicide Unit were notified and responded to the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had a gunshot wound to his head and chest.
